Animation

I chose to watch 10 movies from the animation genre. I picked this genre because animation is fun, interesting, and tends to have underlying messages. I look forward to watching these movies and telling you about them.

1. The Lion King
2. The Iron Giant
3. My Friend Totoro
4. Spirited Away
5. Castle in the Sky
6. Who Framed Roger Rabbit
7. Wall-e
8. The Nightmare Before Christmas
9. Fantasia
10. Finding Nemo

  1. First--would you change your name from "Master Lightning" to your first name, so I know who this is! : )

    2) You have some good films here (I especially like the mixture with anime), but need to include your early examples--e.g. Steamboat Willie, Betty Boop, maybe some Looney Tunes? You should also include Snow White--it was the first full-length animated feature. There's also a clip from Anchors Aweigh that includes Jerry (from Tom and Jerry) dancing with Gene Kelly. First time animation was mixed with live action.

Add a paragraph explaining some of the ideas you want to explore as you watch the films. For example, it would be interested to compare/contrast the anime with US cartoons. What are some of the conventions of animation? How does it play with/bend physical rules? How does it represent reality? These are just a few ideas.
